Senior Living Security: Your Plan for the Future

Happy senior couple feeling safe and secure in their home.

Nothing is more important than feeling safe in your own home, and that is something Springpoint makes a top priority. At Springpoint Life Plan communities (CCRCs), residents can rest assured that we are fully prepared in the case of an emergency, including meeting their healthcare needs. We regularly go over our security procedures to improve reliability and effectiveness, and we always lend a listening ear to residents for input.

Below are just a few of the ways we implement security plans and precautions in our community.

Procedures, Precautions and Offerings at Springpoint Communities

Emergency Communications: First and foremost, communication is key when it comes to safety and security. In the event of an emergency situation, we have an emergency communication system at each of our CCRCs to keep our staff members, residents and families up to date through voice, text and email messages.

Disaster Preparedness: When it comes to your security, the Springpoint team has a detailed action plan in place in the event of a disaster. We regularly revisit and update the procedures when necessary to give you the feeling of confidence you deserve.

Emergency Power: In the event of a storm or other extended power outage, we’ve increased onsite power. Our communities have onsite generators and advanced arrangements for fuel supplies and backup generators to keep the community up and running in the event of lost power.

Emergency Policies and Procedures: To be fully prepared for the unexpected, we share best practices and identify opportunities for improvement between all Springpoint communities.

Healthcare Services: We also believe that health plays a significant part in your safety and security. That’s why we offer a full suite of healthcare services to ensure your needs are covered both now and in the future. These services include independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation and memory care.

Of course, we constantly look into ways to improve the reliability and effectiveness of our plans. One example of this is our response to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Our response included practices such as restricted visitor access, meals delivered to the residents directly, socially distant activities and more. While it’s true that we’re in the midst of a very challenging time, we at Springpoint are a family pulling together, steadfast in our desire to see this through with kindness and compassion. While residents follow the stay-at-home rules and practice proper social distancing, they’re still experiencing the love, care and support of community life.

We have our residents’ best interests in mind at all eight Springpoint Life Plan communities and are proud of the reaction we’ve received. Ron Gerber and his wife, residents at Springpoint community The Moorings at Lewes, moved to The Moorings because they fell in love with the area and knew they’d need quality healthcare later. They shared, “Being here provides a sense of security and we had that security as soon as we moved in. My experience living here has been a good one. I have no plans to go anywhere else. This is home; it’s the right place for me.”
