A Night to Remember: The Springpoint Foundation Brings “Senior Prom” Magic to The Oaks at Toms River
To kick-off summer, residents of The Oaks at Toms River, a Springpoint affordable housing community, enjoyed an unforgettable evening at their very own Senior Prom. Held at the scenic Park Pavilion in Seaside Park, this joyful celebration brought together residents, families, and team members for a night filled with dancing, laughter, and lasting memories — all made possible thanks to the generosity of the Springpoint Foundation’s grants program.
The turnout was outstanding, with residents arriving “dressed to impress.” Thanks to Springpoint’s trusted and well-loved bus driver, Johnny, complimentary transportation was provided—ensuring everyone made it to the event safely, comfortably, and in style.
The beachside venue offered breathtaking ocean views—a rare treat for many residents who hadn’t seen the shore in quite some time. The evening featured a delicious meal and festive decor, including beautiful floral centerpieces donated by the Toms River Rotary Club. The Oaks team went above and beyond to create a true “prom” atmosphere, where every guest felt like the King and Queen. Upon arrival, guests posed for photos beneath an extravagant balloon arch crafted by the community’s own Administrative Assistant, Eileen Carbonaro.
This special event was made possible by the Springpoint Foundation, whose grants program empowers affordable housing communities to bring meaningful experiences to life. By providing funding for programs and initiatives that fall outside typical HUD budget allowances, the Foundation helps ensure these residents have access to enriching opportunities that foster joy, connection, and a deeper sense of community.
The Oaks’ Resident Services Coordinator Jolene Tangredi led the efforts and played a key role in organizing the event, helping to turn this opportunity into a memorable and impactful experience for all who attended.
Adding even more charm to the celebration, the Rotary Club also provided flowers for each resident to take home and arranged for ballroom dancers to entertain. The performers brought energy and excitement, inviting residents to join in on classic dances like the Rumba and Cha-Cha—making the night truly magical.
And, of course, no prom is complete without great music. DJ Johnny from DJ Johnny’s Majic Moments truly delivered, spinning the perfect mix of tunes that energized the crowd and kept the dance floor moving all night long.
This serves as a heartwarming reminder that no matter what age, everyone deserves a night to feel special, celebrated, and connected.
