Springpoint Communities Honor Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day (November 11), several residents and team members from throughout the Springpoint community came together to recognize and celebrate those who served.

Winchester Gardens hosted a touching ceremony with remarks from Executive Director Susan Lippy and a performance by the Winchester Singers. Residents gathered to raise the American flag outside of the community prior to the ceremony. Veterans and loved ones were then invited to an intimate luncheon.

Springpoint Living at Manalapan had a special visit from the Colts Neck High School Naval Junior ROTC. Led by Major Gregory J. Penczak, USMC (Ret.), several residents joined the Cadets in a lovely rendition of “God Bless America.”

At Crestwood Manor, resident veterans displayed memorabilia – including photos, certificates, and uniforms – while exchanging memories and experiences. Resident veterans at Monroe Village also came together to share their stories and pay tribute.

Carl Burns, a resident veteran from Meadow Lakes, organized a stunning visual presentation of his time served in Vietnam. Fellow residents came to ask questions and discuss wartime recollections.

The Oaks at Denville also hosted an impactful program filled with song, dedication, and remembrance.  Springpoint COO and fellow veteran David Woodward was in attendance, along with The Oaks at Denville Executive Director Ann Ricci Kenah and Chaplain Kim Baumgartner. Resident keynote speaker Bob Hannon, a Navy veteran, shared the amazing life story of fellow veteran and longtime friend, 106-year-old Robert P. Beaven. Springpoint is proud to recognize so many of our own residents and staff who have honorably served in the United States Armed Forces. It is a true privilege to pay tribute to them and their families. The events at these Springpoint communities are just a few outstanding examples of the many Veterans Day programs that were held throughout the week.

Veterans Day–originally known as Armistice Day–is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
