Springpoint Celebrates Wellness Around the World with LivWell
This summer, Springpoint’s “LivWell Around the World” initiative inspired residents to participate in fun, engaging community activities while learning about diverse cultures. Residents “traveled” across five countries and experienced the unique customs, traditions, and even delicious foods that help lead to lifelong health and happiness.
LivWell is Springpoint’s award-winning senior wellness program. More than just an activity program, LivWell focuses on whole-person wellness with a deep understanding of physical, intellectual, emotional, social, environmental, spiritual, and vocational needs. The most personalized and comprehensive program for whole-person health and wellness in the region, LivWell was even recognized for innovation by LeadingAge New Jersey.
For this year’s “LivWell Around the World” health initiative, Stacey Judge, Springpoint’s Community Wellness Program Director, encouraged residents to “travel” to The Caribbean, France, Argentina, and Iceland. These specific countries were selected to align with several DEI observances, including Caribbean American Heritage Month in June, French American Heritage Month in July, the Paris Olympics in August, and Hispanic Heritage Month in September. Iceland made the list because it’s considered one of the “happiest countries” in the world, where residents live the “longest and healthiest” lives.
Keeping this theme in mind, LivWell team members from each Springpoint community were responsible for creating programs and activities focused on four main areas: physical fitness and recreation, nutrition and culinary arts, arts and culture, and social celebrations. Residents attending these events would have their LivWell “Passport” stamped for each category covered. For example, during Monroe Village’s Icelandic Spa Day, residents sipped on skyr smoothies while getting pampered with eye masks and hand massages. Participants were then able to receive two stamps – one for recreation and one for nutrition.
The Atrium hosted several cultural events, including a Caribbean happy hour with steel drum entertainment and an Olympics-inspired “Tour de Atrium” cycling competition.
Thanks to our hardworking LivWell team members from all Springpoint Life Plan Communities – The Atrium at Navesink Harbor, Crestwood Manor, Meadow Lakes, Monroe Village, The Moorings at Lewes, The Oaks at Denville, Stonebridge at Montgomery, and Winchester Gardens – for leading residents on an exciting “Wellness Around the World” journey!
With LivWell, residents can determine their level of engagement and connection within the community while improving their health and wellness needs. This is just one example of Springpoint’s commitment to offering exceptional services and innovative programs so that residents and team members can experience the best that life has to offer.
