On Veterans Day (November 11) we proudly honors the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. At Springpoint, we are especially proud to celebrate our veteran team members, whose service has protected our freedoms and shaped our nation.

Our veteran employees remind us that dedication to service doesn’t end with military duty—it continues in the care and commitment they bring to their work each day. Here, we spotlight a few of our veteran team members whose experiences truly embody the Springpoint mission – to create vibrant, supportive communities where residents and team members thrive through integrity and respect.

Don Braxton, Maintenance Supervisor
Friendship Gardens (a Springpoint affordable housing community)

A U.S. Army veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Don served 10 years on active duty before continuing in the National Guard. He remains deeply involved in supporting fellow veterans as Second Vice Commander at Neptune American Legion Post 266.

“My military experience taught me discipline, structure, and leadership,” Don shares. “Those lessons guide me every day in leading my team and caring for our community.”

Kevin Mayne, Maintenance Supervisor
The Gables at West Windsor (a Springpoint affordable housing community)

Inspired by his father’s military service, Kevin joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1977, completing boot camp at Parris Island and serving as military police in Charleston, South Carolina.

After his military career, Kevin built a reputation for hard work and exceptional service across multiple industries. “There’s nothing like good old customer service,” he says, “especially treating people as you would want to be treated.”

Chris Field, Groundskeeper
Meadow Lakes

Chris joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1986, serving four years in the Infantry where he mastered not only the art of war, but also leadership, teamwork, and discipline.

After leaving the military, he pursued a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and later founded his own landscaping business. Now at a community known for its natural beauty, Chris applies his military-honed skills to care for the grounds with precision, expertise, and pride.

Together, these stories—along with countless others across the Springpoint family—reflect the lasting impact of service. Whether through leadership, teamwork, or an unwavering sense of purpose, our veteran team members continue to strengthen the bonds that make our communities so special. They remind us that honor, respect, and dedication are not just values to be celebrated once a year, but qualities to be lived every day.

Veterans Day–originally known as Armistice Day–is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
