Concierge Care in Action: A Personalized Approach to Healthy Aging

As healthcare continues to evolve, more older adults are seeking care that’s not only convenient, but also personalized. Concierge medicine is one approach that’s gaining momentum—and for good reason.

Unlike a traditional office visit, concierge care brings healthcare directly to the patient. Whether provided in a private home or a senior living community, this model allows providers to spend more time with each individual, better understand their environment, and tailor care to their unique needs.

For Springpoint residents, that’s especially meaningful. Making the move to a Life Plan Community doesn’t have to mean leaving trusted healthcare providers behind. Many concierge providers continue caring for patients after they transition to a Springpoint community, helping ensure continuity, comfort, and a seamless healthcare experience.

Ask the Expert

To learn more about concierge care in action, we spoke with Dr. Jennifer Srour, Au.D., founder of Your Home Audiologist, who provides comprehensive audiology services directly in clients’ homes and senior living communities.

Why did you choose the concierge model?

After more than 15 years as an audiologist, I wanted to create a practice centered around the individual. Providing care in a person’s home allows me to understand not only their hearing needs, but also how they experience everyday life. It’s more than convenience—it’s about delivering care that’s personalized to each person’s lifestyle.

What makes in-home audiology different?

When I visit someone in their home, I can observe things I simply wouldn’t see in an office. I can hear the television volume, the doorbell, or the way family members communicate. Those details help me recommend solutions that truly fit the person’s daily routine.

Appointments are also more relaxed. I bring clinical-grade equipment with me and take the time to explain hearing evaluations, demonstrate hearing aids, answer questions, and make sure patients feel comfortable and informed. No one feels rushed.

Why is continuity of care so important?

Moving into a senior living community is a major life transition, but it doesn’t have to interrupt healthcare relationships. Continuing to work with familiar providers can make that transition easier and more reassuring.

When healthcare providers, community teams, and families communicate openly and stay aligned, everyone is working toward the same goal—helping the individual receive consistent, coordinated care without anything falling through the cracks.

What’s one piece of advice for professionals who work with older adults?

Patience and compassion make all the difference. Hearing health isn’t just about devices—it’s about communication, connection, and helping people feel understood. Simple practices like facing the person you’re speaking with, minimizing background noise, and allowing extra time for conversation can have a meaningful impact on an older adult’s confidence and quality of life.

The Future of Healthcare from Home

Concierge medicine continues to grow because it offers something many older adults value most: healthcare that meets them where they are. Whether it’s audiology, primary care, or another specialty, personalized in-home services can provide greater comfort, stronger provider relationships, and a more coordinated care experience—before and after making the move to a Springpoint community.
